Original Artwork

Always antsy to get up and go somewhere fabulous, tia’s become a seasoned world-traveler in her time. Her artwork has been duly inspired by her visits to such far-flung locales as South Africa, Sweden, the Caribbean, and even her adopted home, the Peach State of Georgia, which tia says is like living in a lush vacation spot after a childhood in the flatlands of Texas.

This wanderlust inspiration manifests itself in tia’s canvas work through two forms: acrylic “colorscapes” that blend color to capture glimpses of the natural world, and 3-D mixed-media pieces that bring together found objects to tell whimsical stories.

Her colorscapes frequently portray sunrises, sunsets and other changes of nature that not only reflect vistas from her journeys, but also tia’s passion for conservation efforts. Fans say these pieces provide a connection to the natural world in the manner of a memory or feeling.

tia incorporates treasures from her travels into her 3-D abstracts, everything from mundane hotel keys to beautiful pieces of sea glass, beads and vintage jewelry, piecing items together to tell stories in a playful homage to her mother’s quilt work.
